Swingletree is one of the
largest privately owned driving yards in Europe. It is
set in approximately 70 private acres of unspoiled grass
and woodland. Features include an indoor school, sand
exercise arena, competition size dressage arena &
cone area, X country obstacles & tracks, all

Whatever your experience
tuition is tailored to suit your needs, tastes and
ambition. Swingletree may be a professional driving yard
with a high reputation, but the emphasis for visitors is
relaxed informality. No-one will laugh at your lack of
knowledge - we want you to enjoy your driving! For complete beginners we will take you through the process of harnessing up and putting-to but it won't be long before you take up the reins to drive out with one of our experienced teachers. |

For those with some driving
experience we can help you work on specific items to
improve your skills.We offer tuition with single or pair
turnouts using our own horses and ponies, and showing and
competition instruction for drivers with their own
singles, pairs or teams. Whatever size or shape (and however hairy!) your horse or pony we would be delighted to welcome you both to Swingletree to brush up your driving skills. |
EXAMINATIONS
If you want to take BDS or other driving examinations we are able to offer full preparation for all BDS Levels and Modules. Swingletree is a BDS Test Centre.
A TYPICAL DAY
 |
Lessons can be booked on a half-day
or full day basis. Lessons commence at 10.30 am.
Following a break for lunch (please provide your own
lunch, we will provide tea/coffee) those on a full day
course will go out again for another session from
approximately 2.00 pm until about 4.00 pm. We are delighted if you want to ask questions, and rather than give long lectures in our fully equipped lecture complex, we prefer to sit down and chat over a cup of tea or coffee. |
IF YOU BRING YOUR OWN TURNOUT
We will provide stabling at no extra cost. If you require us to provide hay or woodshavings these will be charged for as used. Please provide your own hard feed. Prior to arrival please ensure that your horse/pony has been recently shod. You should also have third party insurance cover.

LOCAL ACCOMMODATION
